On Sunday Saint Nicholas visited our church. As expected, many families enjoyed the opportunity to photograph their children with him.

Another red and white. The 3rd Battalion, The Yorkshire Regiment (Duke of Wellington’s) paraded through the city today before attending a service at the Minster following their recent return from Afghanistan. The Duke of York, Prince Andrew, welcomed them to the Minster.

We were out for a walk, the weather was cold with freezing fog, ice and the odd patch of snow. We called in here for a hot chocolate and a flapjack before returning to our lodge. I am claiming a 'twofer' - cosy and flames.

I could look forward to spending a few hours just vegging out in that room.
