This is more public art from the University campus. I have to say that thses are more to my taste. This tree was damaged in a storm several years ago. Much of it was cut down and the rest carved with all sorts of images. The plaque explaining it has now gone and the tree is beginning to rot away. However you can still make out some of the carvings. There is an elephant to the left and I have inserted a close-up of a face from the other side.

This is chainsaw art. It amazes me that someone can produce this inticate work using a chainsaw. The interlocking pattern is of geese (I think) in flight. It is also beginning to suffer from the effects of weather and nature
